Yeah, except for that...

We were driving from I-5 through the Cascade Range to visit Donna's brother.

Me: Did you see that?

D: No. What?

Me: A big raccoon along the side of the road. Must have been hit by a car.

D: No, I didn't see it.

Me: It looked healthy.

D: Healthy?I thought it was dead.

Me: Well, yeah. Except for the dead part.

Raucous laughter ensued...
